Car Struck By SEPTA Train In Bucks County: Police

A driver escaped serious injuries after his car was struck by a SEPTA train in Bucks County, authorities said.

It was unclear as to why the 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by a 59-year-old Perkasie man ended up on the tracks at Schoolhouse Road and Railroad Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, according to New Britain Township police and a SEPTA spokesperson.

By the time responders arrived, the front of the SUV was under the commuter train, Police Chief Richard Clowser said. Rescue crews then freed the man and brought him to Grand View Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

There were approximately five people on the train, none of whom were hurt in the incident, a SEPTA official added.
